I’m proud to share that I was selected as one of five, 2026 Ellies Art Teacher Travel Award by Oolite Arts. I am beyond grateful and humbled to receive this recognition and this opportunity to travel and visit Tokyo, Japan. While there, I’ll be researching traditional block printing and contemporary graphic design. I’ll also be revisiting the locations of venues my mother performed in during the late 1960’s while in exile, thinking about how our culture really spread everywhere, and wondering what remains - if anything - of that imprint made so long ago.
